California’s Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom cut ties with Walgreens over its choice to stop offering abortion tablets.
Walgreens stated it would stop dispersing abortion tablets in 20 states in reaction to legal fights led by Republican chief law officers.
” [Walgreens] stated it will not give mifepristone, the very first of 2 drugs in the medication abortion procedure, in 20 specifies following a February 1 letter from GOP chief law officers in those states.” CNN reported
” We plan to be a licensed drug store and will disperse Mifepristone just in those jurisdictions where it is legal and operationally practical,” Walgreens stated in a declaration.
Newsom reacted by shutting Walgreens out of California state organization.
Walgreens is the second-largest drug store chain in the United States behind CVS.
Gavin Newsom will not restore a $54 million agreement with the pharmacy shop chain.
” We’re done,” Newsom stated.
