Jack Smith: Today, an indictment was unsealed charging Donald J. Trump with conspiring to defraud the United States, conspiring to disenfranchise citizens, and conspiring and trying to block a main case. The indictment was provided by a grand jury of people here in the District of Columbia, and it states the criminal activities charged in information. I motivate everybody to read it completely. The attack on our country’s Capitol on January 6, 2021, was an extraordinary attack on the seat of American democracy.
