Homelessness has become an issue in cities across the country but Los Angeles, California is in a class of its own. The city is home to the notorious area known as ‘Skid Row’ which has only expanded in recent years.

While the homeless issue has gotten worse, the city has spent billions upon billions on the issue. So where has the money gone? And why has the problem only increased in size?

A newly appointed U.S. attorney named Bill Essayli is now going to investigate this issue, which is excellent news. An investigation into this is long overdue.

The freshly appointed, MAGA-aligned U.S. attorney for the Central District of California, which includes Los Angeles County, has launched an ambitious new federal criminal task force aimed at forensically investigating how billions in homeless funding over the past five years was spent.

“We will get to the bottom of it. And if we find that any federal laws are violated, we will arrest and prosecute those individuals involved,” U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli told Fox News in his first television interview at his office in Downtown Los Angeles.

Essayli announced the launch of the Homelessness Fraud and Corruption Task Force, which will include federal prosecutors from the FBI, IRS and HUD. One of the items on the agenda is investigating the results of a recent audit that revealed $2.3 billion of homeless funding is unaccounted for in Los Angeles County alone.

“That is not a rounding error. That’s a lot of money. So we want to get to the bottom of where that money went,” Essayli said.

In this video report, Essayli says that arrests and prosecutions are on the table if they uncover wrongdoing.

The Michigan Democrat said she was unexpectedly whisked into the room for the president’s order signing on Wednesday ahead of a scheduled closed door meeting. The two were set to discuss tariffs and opportunities to invest in Michigan’s defense assets, including the Selfridge Air National Guard Base.

“The governor was surprised that she was brought into the Oval Office during President Trump’s press conference without any notice of the subject matter,” Whitmer’s spokesperson told NewsNation, The Hill’s sister outlet, earlier this week.

“Her presence is not an endorsement of the actions taken or statements made at that event,” her office added.

Whitmer, in the Wednesday photo captured by Times photographer Eric Lee, can be seen standing under portraits of Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson in the Oval Office with two blue folders shielding her face.

CNN ‘extremism expert’ Donie O’Sullivan appeared on the network on Friday night to preview an upcoming program on the subject of political extremism in the country right now and laughably claimed that all the extremism is on the right with no equivalent on the left.

It’s amazing that anyone could say such a thing with a straight face.

The left is attacking Tesla owners and firebombing Tesla dealerships. The left is leading antisemitic mobs on college campuses and in cities. The left is holding up accused murderer Luigi Mangione as some kind of hero. There have been two attempts on Trump’s life by leftists. And that’s not even the end of it.

The strong gales carrying sand and dust forced Beijing to issue an orange (second strongest) gale alert for the first time in 10 years.

“Temperatures in the capital were set to fall by 12 degrees Celsius on Saturday, and meteorologists warned that wind speeds could rival or exceed April records dating back to 1951.”

A Beijing marathon previously scheduled for tomorrow (13) in which humanoid robots will race alongside humans has been postponed by a week.

“Natural disasters in China caused direct economic losses of 9.3 billion yuan ($1.27 billion) in the first two months of 2025, according to the Ministry of Emergency Management.”

The law firm Susman Godfrey LLP—the same firm that secured a staggering $787.5 million defamation settlement from Fox News on behalf of Dominion Voting Systems—is now suing President Trump and nearly every major federal agency in a brazen effort to overturn a recent executive order targeting the firm for its politicized legal activism.

Susman Godfrey, a Houston-based firm of leftist legal elites, filed a 66-page lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, hysterically claiming that President Trump’s Executive Order targeting their firm is an unconstitutional “retaliation” for their work defending the “integrity” of the 2020 election.

The complaint alleges violations of the First and Fifth Amendments, as well as separation-of-powers principles.

“The President is abusing the powers of his office to wield the might of the Executive Branch in retaliation against organizations and people that he dislikes,” according to the filing.

“Nothing in our Constitution or laws grants a President such power; to the contrary, the specific provisions and overall design of our Constitution were adopted in large measure to ensure that presidents cannot exercise arbitrary, absolute power in the way that the President seeks to do in these Executive Orders.”

On Wednesday, President Trump signed a sweeping executive order launching a federal investigation and crackdown on the law firm Susman Godfrey LLP

Weezer bass player Scott Shriner’s wife, Jillian Shriner, fired at police before being shot by a Los Angeles Police Department officer on Tuesday, the department has confirmed.

Shriner has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of a peace officer.

Shriner, 51, is a former prostitute-turned-author who wrote about her time in the harem of the Prince of Brunei.

The LAPD was tracking an unrelated hit-and-run suspect through a backyard when they spotted Shriner in a neighboring yard armed with a handgun.

In a press release, the LAPD said, “As the officers were in the rear yard of that residence, they observed a female, later identified as 51-year-old Jillian Shriner, in the yard of a neighboring residence armed with a handgun. The officers ordered Shriner to drop the handgun numerous times; however, she refused. Shriner then pointed the handgun at the officers, and an Officer-Involved Shooting occurred.”

“Shriner was struck by gunfire and fled into her residence. She later exited and was taken into custody,” the press release continued. “Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported Shriner to a local hospital, where she was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.”

In a subsequent press release, the LAPD confirmed that Shriner had actually fired her weapon at the police.

“Our investigation revealed evidence such as a shell casing and video footage showing she repeatedly ignored police commands to disarm and that she fired her weapon at LAPD officers. She was subsequently booked for attempted murder of a peace officer.”

No officers or other civilians were injured during the incident.

Shriner was released on Wednesday on a $1 million bond. She is scheduled to return to court on April 30.

Weezer is scheduled to perform at the Coachella Music Festival on Saturday. NBC News reports that the band still intends to perform.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested 25-year-old Aliakbar Mohammed Amin in Georgia for making direct threats against President Donald Trump, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and the White House.

Amin was taken into custody in Lilburn, a suburb of Atlanta, where FBI agents reportedly confiscated a firearm during the arrest, according to Daily Wire.

The FBI’s Atlanta field office announced the arrest via social media, stating: “Bottom line, the FBI does not tolerate threats and will hold offenders fully accountable.”

Deputy Chief of Staff to Gabbard, Alexa Henning, called out CNN, which shamelessly endangered Gabbard’s life just days before Amin’s arrest.

The arrest of Amin came just hours after another threat was neutralized in Pennsylvania, where Shawn Monper, a self-described Satanist who posted under the handle “Mr Satan,” was arrested for openly stating his intent to assassinate President Trump on YouTube.

Monper lived in Butler, Pennsylvania—the same town where Trump barely survived an assassination attempt during a rally last summer.
