Sweden’s Civilizational Shift: Number of Mosques Surge 4,200% in 25 Years

0
sweden’s-civilizational-shift:-number-of-mosques-surge-4,200%-in-25-years

Once a land shaped by Viking lore and later defined by its austere Protestant ethos, Sweden is now undergoing a dramatic cultural shift, with the number of mosques soaring by 4,200% in less than 25 years—a transformation few could have imagined just a generation ago.

It’s worth noting that the definition of what constitutes a mosque remains unclear—implying the true number could be considerably higher than reported, according to a report by the Swedish news portal Samnytt.

The staggering rise of Muslim houses of worship in Sweden reflects not only shifting religious dynamics but also significant demographic changes. Once a predominantly Lutheran nation, Sweden now sees fewer than half of its population identifying with the Swedish Lutheran Church.

As churches close their doors and the native Swedish birthrate continues to decline, Sweden has seen the number of mosques rise precipitously, from just seven in 2000 to around 300 by 2025.

In parallel with the surge in mosques, Sweden’s Muslim population is growing rapidly, with Pew Research projections indicating that it could surpass 30% of the country’s total population by 2050.

The rapid construction of mosques has prompted concern and sparked debate, largely due to the opaque nature of their funding. Investigations by outlets such as Samnytt have revealed that nations like Saudi Arabia, Iran, Qatar, and Turkey have bankrolled numerous mosque projects across Sweden. One report estimates that one in four mosques has received Saudi funding alone.

To Karin Wanngård, Stockholm’s socialist finance mayor, the dramatic rise in mosques across Sweden is no cause for concern. In fact, she thinks Sweden ought to construct even more mosques.“We have countless churches and far fewer mosques. Of course, we need to build more so people can practice their religion,” Wanngård claimed.

Yet more discerning critics quite rightly warn this religious infrastructure could serve as a conduit for foreign influence.

Swedish security services and civil agencies have repeatedly warned that some mosques may serve as platforms for anti-Western rhetoric or instruments of political influence by foreign powers. Despite these warnings, there is no official registry of mosques or their sources of funding, leaving significant gaps in oversight.

Two major mosque projects in particular have drawn public scrutiny.

In Helsingborg, construction is underway for what’s being dubbed “Scandinavia’s largest mosque,” already funded to the tune of 68 million kronor (6.4 million dollars) via social media and private donors, both domestic and international.

Stockholm’s Skärholmen neighborhood is also preparing to host what could become the largest mosque in Northern Europe. The project is being built by Turkish company EMUG, which has ties to the Islamist Milli Görüs movement—an organization widely criticized for anti-democratic views and anti-Semitism.

Right-of-center politicians point to cities like Malmö as a stark preview of Sweden’s deeply troubling, civilization-altering demographic trajectory.

In Malmö, ethnic Swedes are already a minority in the school system, and the city remains deeply affected by violent crime—most of it linked to migrant gangs. Critics argue that ethnic enclaves have created de facto no-go zones, where police presence is limited and many women report feeling unsafe.

The mosque boom has also reignited debates over national security and integration. The Gothenburg mosque, backed by Saudi funds, has come under fire for promoting misogynistic content. Even more troubling, the Imam Ali mosque in Stockholm has hosted speakers who advocate martyrdom.

National-conservative politicians have seized on the issue. Jimmie Åkesson, leader of the Sweden Democrats, has called for mosques that promote anti-Swedish or anti-democratic messages to be swiftly shut down.

“It is not a right to come to our country and build monuments to a foreign and imperialist ideology,” he said during a party speech. Åkesson advocates for the demolition of mosques found spreading hate or misinformation.

Sweden’s dramatic shift in the religious landscape, underscored by a mushrooming mosque presence and increasing foreign influence, has become a flashpoint in national debates over identity, integration, and security.

As Western European countries like Sweden, the United Kingdom, and France grapple with these changes, increasingly pressing questions remain about how to balance religious freedom with societal cohesion— and which groups should have a hand in shaping the future of these nations.

Rep. Paul Gosar: Time for Congress to Claw Back Unspent COVID-19 Emergency Funds

OP-ED by Representative Paul Gosar (AZ-09)

With the House and Senate now aligned on a budget reconciliation framework, Congress will soon return to Washington, DC to begin the process of identifying at least $1.5 trillion in wasteful federal spending necessary to deliver permanent tax relief for all Americans and enacting President Trump’s America First agenda.

Congress need not look too far to find these savings. A good place to start would be by reviewing and terminating many of the 40 active national emergency declarations dating as far back as the Carter Administration.

These emergency declarations, as established by the National Emergencies Act, were made by presidents during times of crises, such as hurricanes, wars or pandemics. These declarations provide presidents the flexibility to respond quickly and effectively to events that require immediate attention, such as the ability to direct funds from congressionally approved programs to address the emergency.

Here’s what you need to know: national emergencies are not meant to last forever, and they end up costing taxpayers trillions of dollars to implement. According to DOGE, the forty-some active emergency declarations have cost taxpayers more than $14 trillion to date and still counting.

As Congress looks to find savings to pass President Trump’s big, beautiful budget reconciliation bill, now is the perfect time for Congress to review each of these emergency declarations and determine if they are still warranted. Why? For starters, it’s the law. Section 202 of the National Emergencies Act mandates that Congress must debate and vote to terminate a national emergency no later than six months after being declared, and within every six months after that. Yet, Congress seldom has or does.

If the emergency declarations are no longer warranted, Congress should vote to terminate them. In fact, I am the only member of Congress ever to have legislation terminating a national emergency signed into law. Two years ago this month, Joe Biden signed my bill terminating the COVID-19 national emergency declaration, halting trillions of spending no longer warranted.

Ever wonder how much taxpayer money was spent on the COVID-19 pandemic? $6.4 trillion. Trillion with a T. Here’s the thing: Congress and the American people have no idea how much of that $6.4 trillion was actually spent. Because, despite the law requiring that Joe Biden must report national emergency spending to Congress 90 days after the termination of the emergency declaration, he never did. Two years have passed since my bill ending the COVID-19 national emergency was signed into law by Joe Biden, yet Congress has no clue where all the money was spent or even if it was spent.

If DOGE has taught us anything, I have a hunch that billions of COVID-19 dollars are unspent. It’s time for Congress to demand all the receipts of unspent money set aside for the COVID-19 national emergency and the other 40 active national emergencies. Then Congress needs to claw back those unspent dollars and put them towards paying for President Trump’s budget resolution.

Gather the receipts, claw back the unspent money and I bet Congress can easily find the savings and perhaps make deeper reductions in wasteful spending.

President Donald Trump spoke about the arsonist who targeted the home of Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro by saying the suspect is “not a fan of Trump” and “probably just a whack job.”

The arsonist threw Molotov cocktails into the governor’s residence in Harrisburg on Sunday, causing “significant” damage. Nobody was injured in the attack.

Cody Balmer of Harrisburg, 38, has confessed to the arson.

Trump was asked about the incident while speaking to the press on Monday.

“The attacker was not a fan of Trump, I understand, just from what I read and from what I’ve been told. The attacker basically wasn’t a fan of anybody, he was probably just a whack job,” Trump asserted.

“And certainly a thing like that cannot be allowed to happen,” Trump continued.

Balmer has been charged with attempted murder, terrorism, and aggravated arson.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said of the incident, “I am deeply relieved that Governor Shapiro and his family are safe, thankful for the first responders who arrived on the scene, and applaud the police work that resulted in an arrest just hours ago.”

Pete Marocco, a Trump appointee who was serving in a leadership role at USAID has left the State Department.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Marocco clashed with Secretary of State Marco Rubio over the scope of foreign aid cuts. Marocco wanted to be aggressive in cuts to foreign aid and Rubio fought to keep some of the initiatives.

Marocco was informed he was out at the State Department last week. He was told to hand over his badge and government-issued laptop.

It is unclear if Marocco is leaving the Trump Administration or just moving to a different department.

The Wall Street Journal reported:

A key architect of the Trump administration’s campaign to slash foreign aid has left the State Department after less than three months on the job, according to U.S. officials, ending a tenure that saw the dismantling of a government agency that funneled billions in assistance to poor countries.

Pete Marocco oversaw the closure of the U.S. Agency for International Development and briefly led the foreign-assistance mission at the State Department. Marocco worked closely with billionaire Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency and at times clashed with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, some of the officials said.

A senior administration official confirmed Marocco’s departure. “Pete was brought to State with a big mission—to conduct an exhaustive review of every dollar spent on foreign assistance,” the official said. “He conducted that historic task and exposed egregious abuses of taxpayer dollars. We all expect big things are in store for Pete on his next mission.”

“He is no longer at State,” the official said.

Cody Balmer (Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office)

38-year-old Cody Balmer of Harrisburg was arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including attempted homicide, terrorism, aggravated arson, and burglary, following an early morning arson attack on the Pennsylvania Governor’s Residence on Sunday night.

According to a court document obtained by The Gateway Pundit, Balmer meticulously planned the assault. Balmer entered the Governor’s Mansion around 1: 43 a.m. on Sunday.

Security footage obtained by law enforcement shows Balmer breaking into the piano room on the south side of the residence, igniting the first fire, then moving to the dining room to ignite a second device.

The flames caused significant damage to the historic mansion, where Shapiro, his wife Lori, their four children, and extended family were celebrating the Jewish holiday of Passover just hours earlier.

Upon turning himself in, Balmer confessed to harboring hatred toward Governor Shapiro and admitted that he intended to harm the governor with a hammer if confronted.

A search of Balmer’s home uncovered key pieces of evidence—including the “Snap-On” jacket, black bag, and hammer matching those seen in the security footage.

Gasoline-soaked gloves discarded on a nearby street were also found in a trash bin and matched surveillance evidence.

Thank God, this criminal was immediately captured following the arson attack.

What is weird about the Balmer case is that this man’s Facebook page is still live on the social media platform.

When was the last time you saw this happen?…… Never!  Authorities ALWAYS take down the social media of criminals after such a high-profile event.

So why is Balmer’s social media page still available to the public?

Trump Administration Fast-Tracks Controversial Self-Amplifying mRNA Vaccine for H5N1 Bird Flu

The Trump administration has granted Fast Track designation to a groundbreaking — and controversial — self-amplifying mRNA (sa-mRNA) vaccine candidate targeting the H5N1 avian influenza virus.

The vaccine, ARCT-2304, developed by Arcturus Therapeutics, is now in Phase 1 trials and has been positioned by federal health authorities as a front-line defense against a potential bird flu pandemic.

The designation, announced April 10, was awarded by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services and its Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA).

The Fast Track designation from the FDA expedites the review of drugs intended for serious or life-threatening conditions that demonstrate the potential to address unmet medical needs.

This designation aims to get new treatments to patients faster by encouraging more frequent communication between the FDA and the drug developer and allowing for a rolling review of the application.

Unlike traditional vaccines, the ARCT-2304 candidate uses a self-replicating mRNA platform, meaning the genetic material continues reproducing inside the recipient’s cells to boost production of flu-fighting proteins. Arcturus claims this results in a stronger immune response with smaller doses.

“We are pleased to receive Fast Track Designation from the FDA for ARCT-2304,” said Joseph Payne, President and CEO of Arcturus Therapeutics.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to the U.S. government to develop safe and effective STARR® next-generation mRNA vaccines to protect U.S. citizens from future pandemic threats. This designation from the FDA is an important step forward in our mission to provide protective solutions for global health crises.”

This experimental technology, dubbed STARR® and powered by Arcturus’ proprietary LUNAR® delivery system, allows the vaccine to be freeze-dried and stored in refrigerators, avoiding the ultra-cold storage problems that plagued early COVID-19 rollouts.

Federal taxpayers are footing the bill — again. ARCT-2304 is being developed under a BARDA contract (No. 75A50122C0007), highlighting yet another example of public-private partnerships where the pharmaceutical industry reaps the profits and the people carry the risk.

BARDA, the same agency involved in Operation Warp Speed under the previous Trump term, has been given sweeping authority to fund and fast-track pandemic-related vaccines and therapeutics.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many people reported side effects from mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, such as those from Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, leading to widespread complaints.

The mRNA vaccines work by instructing cells to produce a piece of the SARS-CoV-2 virus’s spike protein, triggering an immune response. Approved under emergency use authorizations initially, these vaccines have been administered to billions globally, with full approvals following for certain age groups.

Concerns about side effects have been voiced, especially given the rapid rollout and the unprecedented scale of vaccination.

JUST IN: Judge Reduces Teen Track Star Killer Karmelo Anthony’s Bond to $250,000, Places Him on House Arrest

A judge on Monday reduced teen track star killer Karmelo Anthony’s bond from $1 million to $250,000 and placed him on house arrest.

As TGP previously reported, 16-year-old track and football star Austin Metcalf was brutally stabbed to death earlier this month during a championship track meet at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas.

Metcalf, a junior at Frisco Memorial High School, was attacked in broad daylight — at a school-sanctioned event meant to showcase hard work, discipline, and sportsmanship.

The suspect, 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony of rival school Frisco Centennial, was charged with first-degree murder.

The Karmelo Anthony family attorney asked the judge to put the teen killer on an ankle monitor and reduce his bond so he can “be with his family.”

The defense attorney argued that Karmelo Anthony has no prior arrests and should be released from prison.

Prosecutors argued that Karmelo Anthony was involved in an altercation at school in February, but it did not involve law enforcement, according to Fox 4 News.

In asking for the bond reduction, the defense attorneys said Anthony’s family is having trouble accessing the more than $400,000 raised for the teen killer. The judge sided with the defense and reduced Karmelo Anthony’s bond to $250,000.

Judge Angela Tucker of the 199th Judicial District Court also said Karmelo Anthony would be put on house arrest.

Fox 4 News reported:

Bond Reduced: The judge reduced the teen’s bond to $250,000, and he will be placed on house arrest. He will have to speak to the bailiff every Friday morning and he is not allowed to be on social media.

The Judge: Judge Angela Tucker of the 199th Judicial District Court says she learned of this case assignment last Monday, and the cases are assigned at random. She will only preside over the bond reduction hearing. There will be another random selection for the judge assigned to the trial.

Judge Tucker said they’ve never had the security issues they’ve faced with this case.

She also said during the hearing that this is a bond hearing and not a trial, and at the bond hearing you don’t get everything.

The purpose of a bond is to ensure the defendant will return to court and to ensure the safety of the community, she said.

“I don’t take that lightly at all. I take those things very seriously.”

Investigators are examining whether the attack was politically or ideologically motivated, as Balmer’s actions suggest a targeted attempt to intimidate or harm a public official, according to Politico.

Balmer faces at least eight charges:

  • Attempted Criminal Homicide
  • Aggravated Arson – Person Present
  • Burglary – Overnight Accommodations with Person Present
  • Recklessly Endangering Another Person
  • Terrorism – To Affect Conduct of Government
  • Aggravated Assault – Serious Bodily Injury to Public Officials
  • Loitering and Prowling at Nighttime
  • Aggravated Assault – Attempt to Cause Injury to Designated Individuals

If convicted, Balmer could face decades—possibly life—in prison.
