Liberal ESPN host Stephen A. Smith highlighted the “bombshell” DOJ report during a podcast episode Sunday and ripped the Democrats for lying about January 6 and smearing anybody who suggested the FBI was involved as a “conspiracy theorist.”
“You know what I’m getting really pissed off about? I’m getting really ticked off that every time they open their mouth about something pertaining to y’all, they seem right!” Smith said of conservative commentators who he realized have been right all along.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Inspector General David Horowitz released his much-anticipated January 6 report on Thursday. In the IG report released last week, the DOJ admits to 26 “confidential human sources” (page 77) working that day inside the Trump protest at the US Capitol. The IG Report ignored how many “undercover employees” were also at the US Capitol that day.
According to the report – the DOJ also admitted that 4 entered the US Capitol and 13 entered the restricted area. However, this is very likely inaccurate. As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, the FBI lost track of how many operatives and paid informants they had in the Trump crowd on January 6, 2021.
The Gateway Pundit has reported on numerous confirmed intelligence operatives and “cutouts” who had infiltrated the Trump crowd on January 6, 2021.
When the DOJ admits to 26 undercover operatives working inside the crowd that day, they do not include the many dozens or hundreds of “cutouts” who were operating inside the enormous crowd that day.
They further admit that only three confidential human sources (CHSs) were tasked with reporting on domestic terrorist (DT) subjects and people traveling to DC, but at least 26 were identified.
“Of the 26 CHSs who traveled to DC in connection with the events of January 6, documents and other information we reviewed showed that two CHSs had been tasked by their respective handling field offices to travel to DC in order to report on DT subjects who the field offices understood were planning to travel (travelers) to DC for the events of January 6 and that a third CHS had been tasked by its field office to report on travelers to DC for the events of January 6 after the CHS notified their handling agent about the CHS’s planned travel to DC.”
It’s safe to say that January 6 was the largest organized government set up to target a specific political party in US history.
Smith also emphasized an X post from Vice President-elect JD Vance, where he noted that “this was labeled a dangerous conspiracy theory months ago.”

“Didn’t hear anything about that before the election. Didn’t hear anything about that when the quote, unquote insurrection was broached by Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee, the belief that Donald Trump was a danger to democracy, and using this as a profound, illuminating bullet point to make that case, and now here we are yet again, finding even more evidence to Donald Trump’s claims when he articulated that process is rigged,” he said.
Smith continued going off, screaming at one point, as he tore into the Democrats for pointing the finger at the Right when they’re actually “guilty of the same sh*t.”
“They’ve actually made Donald Trump look like he was right instead of them,” he concluded.
Smith has broken away from the Democrats several times and given more logical takes on politics recently, likely, however, to appeal to his audience of sports fans. Smith said that he was voting for Kamala before the 2024 election. But his anger with the Democrats was truly on display here.
Watch below:
Smith: The news comes amidst a bombshell report from the Justice Department that revealed the FBI had at least 26 confidential informants on the ground when the Capitol was stormed on January 6, 2021. The report says most of the informants engaged in illegal activity during the chaos. The Justice Department says only three of its 26 informants present had been instructed to observe potential domestic terrorist suspects on the day of the riot. The rest of the 23 appeared to have gone to the Capitol on their own accord. Upon hearing news of the report, Vice President-Elect JD Vance posted the following on X: “For those keeping score at home, this was labeled a dangerous conspiracy theory months ago.”

My big issue is that I’m really, really sick and tired of every time I turn around, finding something else that the Democrats have lied about, or downplayed, or misrepresented along the way. I mean, I see Republicans like Megyn Kelly or Officer Tatum or Candace Owens, or, you know, the Sean Hannity’s of the world.
You know what I’m getting tired of? I’m getting, you know what I’m getting— to the Democratic Party, you know what I’m getting really pissed off about? I’m getting really ticked off that every time they open their mouth about something pertaining to y’all, they seem right!
To make the case that the right had a monopoly on insidious, evil tendencies, corrupt tendencies, duplicitous, hypocritical, untruthful tendencies, and every time they made those accusations, we turn around and find out that at least some of them are guilty of the same sh*t.
I don’t know about y’all, but I’m sick of all of it. I’m sick of all of it. They’ve actually made Donald Trump look like he was right instead of them.
