Several months ago, The Gateway Pundit exposed how a USAID-funded effort, called the Stanford Internet Observatory, used taxpayer dollars to organize a takedown of the digital platform Parler.
Through grants from the National Science Foundation, they were tasked with targeting Parler AND prominent America First figures on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
The same organization, SIO, also targeted The Gateway Pundit, which is now involved in legal action against them with the support of America First Legal.
The report listed Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Dinesh D’Souza, Dan Bongino, Laura Loomer, Senator Ted Cruz, Mark Levin, former Congressman and Trump Media CEO Devin Nunes, and Eric Trump and the Trump team as main culprits of spreading disinformation on Parler.
Publications the Babylon Bee, PragerU, The Gateway Pundit, Daily Caller, One America News Network are also mentioned for amplifying so-called “disinformation.”
That was nearly five years ago. Now, Parler is under new ownership and operates with the Optio Blockchain, which provides decentralized data ownership, AI-powered cloud services, and blockchain-driven economic empowerment.
“We’re not just rebuilding Parler. We’re redefining what social media can and should be,” said Yasser Elgebaly, Chair of Parler. “No more surveillance, no more secret algorithms controlling what you see, and no more exploitation of user data without consent. This is the future of social media—transparent, user-owned, and financially empowering.”
This allows users to not only own their data, but to be able to earn off their activity on the app, which now has functions like Burst (similar to TikTok) and PlayTV (akin to YouTube), providing a place free of censorship or concerns over deplatforming for tens of millions of users worldwide.
The OPT token, which users on Parler earn through their activity, officially launched on XT.com, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, just a few days ago.
