President Trump’s first order of business was to declare an emergency on the US-Mexico border.

The Mexican drug cartel was put on notice today that they are no longer in charge of the US border.

Border Patrol agents exchanged gunfire with Mexican drug cartel members on Monday as they tried to bring a group of illegals over the border in Fronton, Texas.

The illegals did not make it across the river.

Nobody was struck on either side.

Via Fox News reporter Bill Melugin: Per multiple law enforcement sources, within the last hour, Border Patrol agents near Fronton, TX were fired upon from MX by suspected cartel gunmen as a group of illegal aliens were being brought across the river. I’m told BP returned fire, nobody hit on either side, and that the illegal aliens did not make it across.

Texas DPS is patrolling the area and using a drone to monitor the Mexican side.

NewsNation reporter Jorge Ventura said the illegals were blocked from crossing the river after Border Patrol agents returned fire.
