Within the area of fifteen minutes from about 4: 30 a.m. to 4: 45 a.m., a Truist Bank ATM and a Nike shop were struck with explosive gadgets, while a Safeway was firebombed with a Molotov Cocktail. No injuries were reported as the facilities were closed. Authorities report each attack led to undefined damages to business.

Suspects and Vehicle Sought in Destruction of Property Offenses in the District
Sunday, July 2, 2023

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Washington Field Division look for the general public’s support in recognizing suspects and a lorry in recommendation to Destruction of Property offenses that happened on Sunday, July 2, 2023, in the District.

At roughly 4: 30 am, the suspect detonated an explosive gadget on the pathway beyond the ATM at the Truist Bank situated in the 2300 block of Washington Place, Northeast then left the scene in a lorry. The explosive gadget triggered damage to the area. CCN: 23-106-401

At roughly 4: 36 am, the suspect detonated an explosive gadget on the walkway in front of the doors at the Nike Store situated in the 700 block of H Street, Northeast, then got away the scene in a lorry. The explosive gadget triggered damage to the place. CCN: 23-106-429
