Last week, America’s most dishonest Secretary of State, Jocelyn Benson (Soros Democrat), held a press conference at the Richard H. Austin building in Lansing, MI, to announce her candidacy for governor.  The unpopular Democrat SOS is running to replace Michigan’s equally unpopular Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who is term-limited.

The problem is, as she has done so many times before, it appears Jocelyn Benson violated the law. Benson’s announcement to run for governor violated Michigan campaign finance law when she announced her candidacy from a public, taxpayer-funded building, something that a woman who likes to flaunt her Harvard law school degree should have known was against the law.

On Jan. 22,  the Soros-funded SOS shared a video on X that depicted her as a caring mom and compassionate public servant as she ran through the streets of Detroit in a campaign video to announce her run for governor in 2026. For the record, Detroit Police clearly stated there were no visibly armed protesters outside her home after the 2020 election, yet Jocelyn Benson continues to perpetuate this lie. Unfortunately, there are no honest journalists in Michigan willing to call her out on this often-repeated lie that paints her as an imaginary victim.

Unfortunately for the Michigan taxpayer, Jocelyn Benson has spent most of her time as Michigan’s Secretary of State in court fighting to keep voting machines at arm’s length from the clerks who administer elections or fighting to keep dead or illegitimate voters on the voter rolls, or preventing Republican poll challengers from doing their jobs. When she’s not in court, Jocelyn Benson lies to the media and her constituents.

MI Democrat SOS Jocelyn Benson

Here are only a few of the comments under Benson’s campaign video. Like literally everything she posts on X, about 99% of the responses to Benson’s tweet are negative, revealing in advance of her campaign that any support she has for her candidacy is very likely manufactured. But then again, she is the person administering the elections, and for the past 6 years, Democrats have had an unusually high level of success electing unpopular candidates from their party.

Last night, the Michigan GOP issued a public statement announcing their complaint against Michigan’s crooked SOS for using government property to announce her run for governor in Michigan.

The complaint reads as follows:

The Michigan Republican Party filed a complaint against Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson for misusing public resources to advance her desperate campaign for the Governor’s mansion. The complaint, submitted under Section 215(5) of the Michigan Campaign Finance Act, calls for an immediate investigation by the Bureau of Elections, citing the legal
argument of former Democrat party Chair Mark Brewer.

On January 22, 2025, Benson hosted a campaign press conference in the lobby of the Richard H. Austin Building, where she announced her candidacy for governor (after a botched social media announcement the night prior). Using a state-owned building for campaign purposes is a clear violation of Michigan law, which prohibits government officials from using public resources for political activities.

Mark Brewer, a prominent Democrat attorney and former chair of the Michigan Democratic Party, has explained that Michigan law “expressly prohibits the use of any public resources for political campaign…I mean, they held it in a public building… That was a campaign event…and was illegal.”

The complaint highlights that the Richard H. Austin Building, funded by Michigan taxpayers, is not a public space open to all but instead is an office under Benson’s control. The press conference, which lasted approximately 20 minutes, discussed Benson’s campaign priorities, further underscoring the event’s political nature.

Under Michigan law, any individual who knowingly violates these provisions may face misdemeanor charges, including a possible fine of up to $1,000 or incarceration for not more than one year. “We call on the Bureau of Elections to take this complaint seriously and to hold Jocelyn Benson accountable for her flagrant abuses of the public’s trust. We also request that the Bureau of Elections enjoin Secretary Benson and her campaign from future violations and fine them the maximum amount permitted by law,” said Tyler Henningsen, Political Director of the Michigan Republican Party. “The integrity of our public office holders must be maintained, and the misuse of taxpayer-funded resources for personal political gain will not be tolerated.”

Benson has a history of lying and gaslighting citizens who don’t trust her

When the Gateway Pundit caught USPS workers dropping off stacks of ballots in absentee drop boxes instead of taking them to the address on the envelope, Benson defended their actions under the Elections “disinformation” tab of the MI SOS website, calling their actions “Perfectly legal and normal activity.” In a recorded phone conversation with Rick Moreton, USPS Detroit District 1 Manager, where the incident took place, we were told that the postal workers caught on surveillance video delivering absentee ballots to a drop box for voters were indeed in violation of the USPS rules, which clearly state mail can ONLY be delivered to the address on the envelope or “hand to hand” at the address specified on the front of the envelope. Jocelyn Benson claims anyone claiming otherwise has a “lack of evidence or understanding of MI election laws.”

Before the 2024 election, MI SOS Benson appeared on the far-left Meidas Touch to accuse Republicans of creating “confusing” and “fear” leading up to the election, as well as pushing an unfounded [fake] narrative that Republicans are threatening election officials with violence. She also called lawsuits against her “sham lawsuits,” as she tried to discredit legitimate plaintiffs who’ve filed important election integrity cases against her.

In an interview with the far-left Meidas Touch, America’s most dishonest SOS explained to the radical host how she’s part of a group of 6 dirty secretaries of state in key swing states where President Trump lost the election in 2020 ( like windows that were covered to prevent Republican poll challengers from watching UOCAVA votes being counted in MI). Benson explained how the secretaries of state were “semi-coordinating” with each other to “develop common strategies” to battle a “common adversary” (American citizens who no longer trust how elections are administered, especially at the SOS level).

“And we learned to semi-coordinate with each other in ’20. Katie Hobbs and I, she was secretary of Arizona at the time. She and I were friends, and we would talk regularly. But there was really no way for us to consistently as a team, the six of us in those six battleground states — Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, and Georgia — to constantly both compare notes and also say, OK, how we are going to respond to this nationally coordinated effort with a coordinated response. So now we have that. We actually spent 2022 working to build that team in these six states.”

Michigan voters will not elect Jocelyn Benson as their next governor. Can Michigan’s top election integrity experts prevent her from cheating to win her own election? And will President Trump’s promise to clean up elections in America harm her chances?
