According to Local ABC Memphis, Demetrius Haley who previously worked for the Shelby County Division of Corrections as a corrections officer was mentioned in a 2016 civil liberties suit for supposedly beating a jail prisoner to unconsciousness.
Haley was called as one of 2 officers who apparently attacked the prisoner throughout a random search.
