A federal judge has sided with the anti-American ACLU’s plaintiffs and temporarily blocked President Trump’s Department of Homeland Security agents from raiding Home Depots, car washes and other places in the Los Angeles area (7 counties in the Central District of California) unless they have reasonable suspicion that there is a violation of immigration laws.
On Thursday Fox News reported that US District Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong, a Biden appointee, had written a tentative decision:
Sources who have reviewed Judge Frimpong’s tentative decision tell us her order will block ICE and Border Patrol from relying on race, Spanish speaking, location, and type of work when making immigration arrests.
Additionally, DHS will be blocked from conducting stops of suspected illegal immigrants unless the agent has a reasonable suspicion that there is a violation of immigration law.
The ACLU and a handful of plaintiffs sued the Trump administration, alleging they were doing “deportation dragnets” in LA by making mass arrests that were based only on skin color and race.
The Trump administration DOJ denies this, saying all arrests are in accordance with the law and are based on the totality of the circumstances, including surveillance, intelligence, and locations where illegal immigrants are known to work or be hired.

US Attorney for the central district of California Bill Essayli said he disagreed with the judge’s ruling and said agents will continue to enforce the law.
Statement in response to today’s ruling in Perdomo et al. v. Noem et al.
We strongly disagree with the allegations in the lawsuit and maintain that our agents have never detained individuals without proper legal justification. Our federal agents will continue to enforce the law…
