The Mexican drug cartel was put on notice today that they are no longer in charge of the US border.
Border Patrol agents exchanged gunfire with Mexican drug cartel members on Monday as they tried to bring a group of illegals over the border in Fronton, Texas.
The illegals did not make it across the river.
Nobody was struck on either side.

Texas DPS is patrolling the area and using a drone to monitor the Mexican side.

NewsNation reporter Jorge Ventura said the illegals were blocked from crossing the river after Border Patrol agents returned fire.
