In an article for The Gateway Pundit in September 2024, Sonny Fleeman exposed a study in which veterans were exposed to “unethical experimentation” in the form of behavioral intervention to see if it would increase their receptiveness to the COVID-19 shot.

The whistleblower’s discovery revealed that the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) used motivational interviewing (MI) techniques—a psychological strategy designed to influence behavior—to encourage veterans to accept experimental gene therapies misleadingly dubbed COVID-19 vaccines. Consider the quarterly report of the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission for Moderna, Inc., which reveals “mRNA is considered a gene therapy product by the FDA”

As noted in the previous article, Motivational Interviewing (MI) is often described as a method counselors use to bring about positive change in a person’s life. According to documents reviewed by The Gateway Pundit, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) began a study on MI for COVID-19 “vaccine” acceptance in April 2021.

By April 2022, the VA had already expanded MI training to all healthcare employees—well before the study concluded in September 2024.

Fleeman advised that the views and opinions expressed in this article are solely his own and do not reflect the official policies, positions, or views of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the United States Government, or any organization or employer, current or former, with which he is or has been affiliated.

“Years ago, as a veteran, I experienced vaccine coercion firsthand at a VA Medical Center by my primary care doctor,” Fleeman told The Gateway Pundit. For this reason and many others, he has “worked tirelessly” to expose the harm caused by such unethical practices. In addition, he noted that available scientific literature and data show a correlation between the COVID-19 injection and increased health consequences.

Fleeman was appalled to “[uncover] direct evidence of the VA’s unethical experimentation and psychological manipulation, [explaining] they were careless enough to provide video evidence of it.” He shared that “most veterans would never realize how their informed consent was being violated, [adding that] while it’s subtle, it’s still coercion.” According to him, “The VA used these techniques to strategically influence veterans’ choices, violating MI’s core principles and raising serious ethical concerns about manipulation.”

After waiting months for the VA to fulfill a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for a training video related to these techniques, he was forced to file an appeal and complaint when the VA closed the request without explanation. Fleeman has since acquired and provided this FOIA document to Dr. Crisanna Shackelford, Navy veteran and founder of realreactions.org.

On January 17, Dr. Shackelford released the video and detailed findings on the VA’s unethical use of motivational interviewing.

It’s telling how the VA remains heavily invested in the mRNA vaccine platform—a technology that, by coincidence or convenience, also happens to be the cheapest to produce and the most profitable, Fleeman pointed out. “All the while,” he said, “the agency conveniently ignores safety signals and long-term risks associated with this technology.”

For him, “This isn’t about protecting veterans, [but] it’s about advancing a public-private partnership that prioritizes a platform chosen not for its effectiveness, but for its endless profitability.” He argued that “with its rapid, low-cost production, limitless scalability, and constant stream of ‘updates,’ mRNA technology has become a perpetual cash machine, masked as healthcare.”

Fleeman warned, “The VA’s quiet normalization of this system under the guise of care is not just unethical but also a warning of how deeply profit-driven motives have infiltrated the veterans’ healthcare system, putting institutional interests above the well-being of those who served.”

“It’s unsettling how easily money and policy reshape what’s considered ‘care,’” he added. “Today, it’s toxic injections. Tomorrow, it could be suicide pods—all justified in the name of efficiency and the so-called greater good.” He asserted, ““The strategy wouldn’t need to change, only the messaging.”

VA FOIA Data Reveals Escalating MST Claims with 68 Percent Approval Rate and Soaring Costs

With liabilities skyrocketing within the VA, new data obtained through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by Fleeman exposes a troubling surge in Military Sexual Trauma (MST) claims by veterans.

In data reviewed by The Gateway Pundit, analysis reveals a dangerously high 68 percent approval rate for MST claims and an estimated annual claim volume that could now exceed 50,000 claims, representing a significant financial burden for taxpayers and the VA system.

While Fleeman was forced to file a formal FOIA appeal due to the VA’s failure to provide complete and up-to-date data, the partial records confirm that MST claims are escalating rapidly, further heightening his concerns about the VA’s sustainability.

The FOIA data provides MST claim numbers for recent years, revealing a massive 58 percent jump from 22,542 in 2021 to 35,602 in 2022. “If we apply a conservative growth assumption based on this upward trajectory,” Fleeman said, “MST claims could easily reach 50,000 annually in 2023 or beyond.”

According to Fleeman, this estimate is consistent with the escalating trend in MST claims seen over the past decade.

In the documents provided to Fleeman, the VA data breaks down the total claims filed and total claims approved from 2014 to 2023. Using this data, the overall approval rate can be determined.

“This means that approximately 68 percent of MST claims are approved, creating significant financial liability for the VA,” Fleeman explained.

“At the current 70 percent disability rating, a single veteran with no dependents receives $21,110.28 annually in compensation,” he shared. This figure is based on VA data, which indicates that 70 percent is the average disability rating assigned for mental health conditions. “Using the estimated 50,000 MST claims annually, and applying the 68 percent approval rate,” he pointed out that “approximately 38,000 claims would be granted.”

According to Fleeman, an annual cost could reach $800 million, while the lifetime cost over 20 years could reach $16 billion. “This projection underscores the massive financial implications of just one year of MST-related claims on the VA’s resources and taxpayers,” he explained.

VA Transparency in Question

The VA’s failure to provide complete and accurate FOIA data has forced Fleeman to file an appeal, which could take years to resolve. The data provided was sourced from outdated systems and excluded key details about combat-related claims and other categories.

“The VA’s mishandling of this FOIA request is unacceptable,” said Fleeman. He released the available data now to emphasize the urgency of public awareness and action. “Even with incomplete data, it’s clear that MST claims are exploding, and the financial burden is staggering.”

Consider the burgeoning financial burden,” he said, “veterans and taxpayers deserve to know the truth.”

“The combination of a 68 percent approval rate, rapidly increasing MST claims, and significant financial liability raises serious questions about the sustainability of the VA’s claims process,” Fleeman warned. “Without greater transparency and reforms to evaluation standards, the system risks becoming overwhelmed—threatening benefits for veterans with legitimate needs.”

Because these findings validate the concerns raised by Fleeman in his recent Gateway Pundit article, underscoring the need for immediate reforms to address systemic flaws,” he maintains, “the time for accountability is now.”
