Fires at homeless camps in Seattle are ending up being all too typical.

Just 2 weeks earlier, there was a significant fire at a homeless camp over a declared drug dealing disagreement.

Encampment fire in Seattle triggered by ‘careless burning,’ detectives state

An encampment fire triggered a huge plume of smoke to increase above downtown Seattle Monday afternoon.

The fire triggered in an encampment at Mercer Street near Fairview, near to an Interstate 5 on-ramp. Eastbound lanes of Mercer Street were obstructed while firemens dealt with the scene.

There were no injuries reported and firemens did not discover anybody in the encampment.

Seattle Fire Department detectives state the fire on Mercer Street was deliberately set. A 46- year-old male was apprehended for an examination of careless burning.

According to court files, the male implicated of setting the fire informed officers at the scene that he was cleaning his camping tent when he overturned a lit candle light. He informed cops he did not at first discover the candle light be overturned, however tried to snuff out the flames when his camping tent ignited.

The smoke plume from the fire might be seen from throughout the water on Alki Beach.
