On Wednesday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken took part in a moderated discussion on the state of press liberty worldwide with Washington Post writer David Ignatius.
During the occasion, members of the feminist grassroots company CODEPINK, disrupted Blinken as he discussed press liberty.
” Excuse us, we can’t utilize this day without requiring the flexibility of Julian Assange,” stated among the protesters.

” It’s entirely hypocritical for Secretary Blinken to go over “press flexibility” while our federal government looks for no justice for American reporters eliminated by our allies and looks for to penalize truth-tellers like Julian Assange,” according to the Code Pink company.
This is not the very first time the company cut off Blinken.
Last month, CODEPINK activists cut off Antony Blinken at the Foreign Relations Committee Senate hearing “American Diplomacy and Global Leadership: Review of The FY24 State Department Budget Request.”
” One by one the group stood holding indications referencing crucial locations where Blinken is stopping working as a diplomat consisting of: Ukraine: Peace Talks Now!; China is Not Our Enemy; Free Palestine; No $$$ to Israeli Apartheid; Cuba Off the Terrorist List; Lift Sanctions of Venezuela and Cuba; and No War!”
