Southern Manatee Fire Rescue Chief Robert Bounds informed WFLA that the tanker carrying 30,000 gallons of gas was not dripping, and the mishap scene was safe. No injuries were reported.
” The scene is as safe as it can be today. Short of that tank being on its side, there is no issue,” Bounds stated.
” We have drones. We run the hazmat group for the county of Manatee and we were in the air with our drone which has thermal abilities,” Bounds informed Fox13
” We had the ability to take a look at the tank and determine the levels of the tank from the outdoors, it’ll appear various colors if anything is really dripping. There are no leakages. There are no real physical damage to the tank aside from the rollover, however there is no considerable damage to it,” he continued.

ABC News reported:
Since the tanker is intact, teams will not attempt to unload the gas, rather raising the automobile with the contents within the tanker.
According to Bounds, a 100- foot area of the railway is “snapped in half” and rooted out.
” It’s type of a cause and effect,” he stated. “The one automobile leapt the track and turned, which’ll pull the next cars and truck, and so on and so on till the inertia stops enough that the last cars and truck simply unbuckled.”
Bounds stated that an effort to upright the gas tanker would take place in the coming days.
According to Bounds, teams keeping track of the website are geared up with gas-monitoring devices and regional organizations have actually been alerted about the derailment.
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is supplying security near the website.
