Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador lit social networks on fire on Saturday by sharing a picture that he declared to be of a magical fairy being in a tree.
Obrador likewise shared an image of sculptures from a Yucatec-Maya archeological website that he declared to be of this kind of fairy.
” I share 2 pictures of our guidance of the Mayan Train works: one, taken by an engineer 3 days back, obviously from an aluxe; another, by Diego Prieto of a remarkable pre-Hispanic sculpture in Ek Balam. Whatever is magical,” the Mexican president composed, according to a maker translation.
An Aluxe is a little mythological individual that triggers chaos and mischief according to Mayan tradition.

While some social networks users welcomed the tradition and enjoyed with it, others rapidly got to work unmasking Obrador’s fairy image.
